Silent Meditation: It’s hard to be a follower of Jesus, in New Testament days and now, because Jesus calls us to do things that are uncomfortable and unexpected. Things that are awkward, that we might normally avoid. But he calls us to do the extraordinary because God’s mission is extraordinary, and so is God’s love. So following Jesus might require a brave amount of kindness and openness, but that is the call, and it is part of the abundant life God wants us to have.
