Missions Activities

At First Baptist, the fellowship is warm, inviting, and casual. But we take our faith seriously. We want to grow as people—in faith, spirit, compassion, maturity, justice, and understanding. And we want to serve others. We care about ministering to each other, serving our community, and helping our world. Here are just some of the ways we give back. Come help us make a difference!

Senior Adult Mealsite - every weekday morning we host any senior adult in the community to come for activities, conversation, and lunch (transportation available)

Craggy Prison - participate and help lead worship, Friday evenings in January and July

Serving Meals to Veterans - cook lunch, serve it, then eat with folks at the Veteran’s Restoration Quarters in Asheville

Room in the Inn - provide shelter for homeless women

Mountain State Fair Ministry - when the fair is in town, we go to help, offering food and services to the workers, as well as Bibles and prayer for fair goers

Women’s Mission Group - women of the church meet together to help us reach our community and world. They learn about mission work, pray for missions, and then work to embody that missionary spirit. (Meets every second Monday at 6:00 pm.

Kids Mission Groups - Wednesdays at 5:00 pm, kids get to have fun and learn about mission work around the world, in the Royal Ambassadors group for boys (RAs) and Girls in Action for girls (GAs).
