To donate towards WNC Disaster Relief you can use the church's online giving portal or Venmo (@FBCWVL). Mark funds as "Disaster Relief." We will keep some to help local Weaverville residents, and also send some to the wider relief work around WNC.

Show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2).

  • We now have lots of care bags put together for people who are unhoused. Each one contains food, socks, hygiene products, a lantern, toiletries, and snacks. They're made for you to keep with you (like in your car) and give away when you see someone who could use it. Take and share!

  • Our Food & Supply Pantry has LOTS of baby medicine and formula that we really want to get to whomever needs it!New List Item

  • Time to fill some buckets! We'll get active in Bible Study again, prepping clean-out buckets for disaster relief work. It won't be strenuous, but it'll do lots of good. Since we are the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12), we'll put our body to use!

  • Hundreds of hot meals are served for lunch everyday.

  • An airlift was organized to take a load of generators to a community in Burnsville that is inaccessible to vehicles. They landed in our churchyard.

  • Unlimited clean drinking water is now available! Anyone can bring whatever they want and fill it up. (Hot showers are now up and running!)

  • Public WIFI is now at First Baptist Weaverville! Use the network "FirstBaptist". Don't sit on the concrete at Publix (no offense, they're awesome), come to church and sit at a table in the air conditioning!

  • "Things We Learned from the Storm." This Sunday was nine days after Hurricane Helene devastated our area. Pastor Stuart shares some of the incredible miracles that have happened right here in our midst. All we had to do was open the doors of our hearts or building, and let God do incredible things.   • Warm Up America sent us boxes of beautiful knitted handmade scarves, gloves, and hats to help people stay warm.

Disaster Relief Help at the Church – An Explosion of Ministry and Holy Chaos

Here’s the FULL video of our current ministries roundup! There are so many good things happening amidst disaster. Love being shown, neighbors helping neighbors, all through God working. Here are just a few things offered at our church. We just opened the doors of our hearts and building, then let God in to work miracles.
