October Community Support Projects
This month we are collecting donations to support some wonderful community programs.
On Sunday, October 31, from 3-5 pm we will have our Trunk-Or-Treat event in the parking lot. Anyone that would like to donate candy to hand out during the event can place those donations in the bin located in the Fellowship Hall. If you would like to help volunteer that day by decorating a car, handing out candy, and/or interacting with trick-or-treaters, please let Regina know as soon as possible.
We are also taking donations to support the Baptist Retirement Homes' Medicine From the Heart Program. This program helps older adults get medications more affordably. You can donate by filling up one of the designated change bottles and bringing it back to the church by Oct 31.
The Woman’s Missionary Union of North Carolina (WMUNC) is collecting items to give as gifts to incarcerated women this Christmas. Our church’s goal is to provide 100 bottles of lotion, to provide some soothing softness on hard days. Prisons require exact sizes, so please get only plastic bottles between 8 and 11 ounces, with NO pump. Bottles must be at the church by November 7.
In the Fellowship Hall there is a large box for children's shoes and coat donations that will go to the Weaverville Methodist Church B.E.A.R Closet. They are collecting coats sizes 24 months to 5T and children's shoes sizes 2-13.
