Lent Devotion (weeks 5 & 6)

During the season of Lent this year we released a weekly devotion video series, to help us prepare our hearts for Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Each week’s offering included a Scripture passage, a musical selection, a reflection, and a prayer.

For the fifth week of Lent we are carried by the song "What Wondrous Love Is This." We also read Luke 4:1-13 and thought about temptation. What are the things that we're really tempted to do that we shouldn't? They can be hard to notice, because if they were obviously bad, then they wouldn't be very tempting to us.

For our last Lenten devotion, we were asked in song "Were You There?" And we thought about what it means to be blessed. Reading Jesus' words in Luke 6:20-26 makes us realize that our ideas of what being blessed looks like don't really match Jesus' ideas. A good challenge for us to adjust our thinking, and get it more in line with God.
