Lent Devotion (weeks 3 & 4)

Recently we began a weekly Lent Devotion series. We post a brief video every Monday (around lunchtime) during the season of Lent, to help us prepare our hearts for Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Each week’s offering will include a Scripture passage, a musical selection, a reflection, and a prayer.

For the third week of Lent we read from Mark 9:14-29 and heard "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." As you reflect with us, we invite you to place yourselves in the shoes of the characters in this amazing story and to see how Jesus responds to us when we are in need, when we become too arrogant, and when our faith is shaken. It is truly amazing what God can do with the smallest amount of faith.

For the fourth week of Lent we read from Mark 9:30-41 and heard “Jesus, Remember Me.” This week, let us reflect on how we can focus on building a community of faith with humility, unity, love, service, and inclusion. And let us thank God that Jesus is a patient teacher who guides and directs us back on the right path when we stray from these things.
